SOLD 3 V&A Catalogues * £15 €25 $50 Including Shipping

The only blemish on these three virtually pristine old books is the slight bend mark to the front cover of this first book. But then it is over 50 years old.
This book has 33 black and white plates of embroideries in the V&A together with an historical introduction by Barbara Morris.
Elizabethan Embroidery is probably a better known booklet and this copy is a first edition of 1948 in virtually new condition - it is astonishing!
This is a forever favourite book of mine, I have had countless copies as I never seem to be able to leave them behind whenever I see them in a shop.
It has 26 crisp black and white photographs of Elizabethan embroidery.
Donald King's book is somewhat larger than the other two - it has 89 plates just of samplers.
This is the fourth impression of 1977 and is in excellent condition.
There are many fabulous samplers from the famous V&A collection
and you may be interested to know that there are many fine European examples like these Spanish ones shown below, besides home-wrought British examples.
