Fab@50 The American Museum in Bath Celebrates at Christies * London * 7 and 10-14 January 2011

There are a number of special anniversaries this year and I am delighted to congratulate the American Museum in Bath on its 50th birthday. I hope you have another lovely 50 years! Although many visitors to the UK manage to take in the splendid city of Bath with its fabulous Georgian architecture and Costume Museum - and just a bus ride away, the American Museum at Claverton with its fantastic collection of quilts - not everyone has the time to make the journey west. So, for a few days, you don't have to. The American Museum will be showing some of its best at Christies in London. Just click here for more details of this not to be missed occasion.

  1. They have a great book on quilts that is a few years old. Thank you for this information.

  2. This red & white quilt looks like a Hawaiian quilt. I just found out about them this past year and think they are quite striking.

  3. You are absolutely right - it is Queen Kapi’olani’s Fan quilt from Hawaii made in the 20th century.
